History of Bayou Board
The Bayou Board of REALTORS was formed in 1958. In the image of larger boards on the National level, the Bayou Board was formed by men of integrity. Their goal was to ensure honorable, faithful, and competent service to clients, customers, and other members of the public. They believed that through their collective efforts, the ends of national policy and general welfare could be served.
The founders of Bayou Board sought to make the broker recognize the truly fiduciary relationship he has with his client and to assure service of a professional quality in all respects. Most of all, they recognized that self-discipline in the interest of protecting the public was not inconsistent with the preservation of a competitive marketplace.
Today's REALTOR still strives to uphold the same philosophy, adhering to a strict code of ethics, and professional standards.
